Longsword Phrasing

Service Description

Our phrasing class is a low gear, low speed class to bridge into a sparring environment. A *phrase* is a sequence of back and forth actions between two fencers. Similarly, this class will focus on technique refinement in the context of multiple actions. Entry, attacks, defenses, redoubling, contra tempo, measure control, provocations, invitations, defending the hands. This class aligns with intermediate longsword monthly unit topics: Forms & Guards, Approaching & Receiving Gioco Stretto (The Close Play), Approaching & Receiving Gioco Largo (The Wide Play), and Grappling ✅ Pre-requisites: Required Skills: TBD Required Gear: - Personal Mask / Gorget / Padded Gloves
