About the event
A tournament is only as good as its officials. Whether you are looking to volunteer at your first event or want to deepen your understanding of officiating come and get your reps in judged matches.
Led by Anthony Zavin, a veteran Director and key organizer behind the Tournament of Roses, this session focuses on the fundamentals of the Longpoint-style ruleset and the specific nuances of IFG’s tournament standards. Participants will learn the visual vocabulary of an exchange, how to communicate clearly with a Director, and practice making calls in real-time.
If the weather is nice there will be free-sparring in the parking lot!
Topics Covered:
Visual Mechanics: Where to stand and what to look for during an exchange.
